Hygiene is a big part of every day life. Most days you will be coming in contact with people, unless of course you live alone and have the life of a hermit. It is important to take precautions to make yourself as pleasant as possible to all the senses. No one wants to smell a foul order and then follow the stench to you. Another big turn down to people is talking to someone with yellow or stained teeth. Of course, we should be looking at the person’s eyes and that general region, but it is just human nature for ours eyes to wonder and notice such things. You not only want your teeth to look white, but also to be as healthy as possible.

Sometimes even with good hygiene, you teeth don’t look as glamorous as they should or can. There are a few methods that can be used in order to make that smile of yours a bit whiter. The main one is buying teeth whitening products from a retail store, which is the choice of most. One option is to bleach your teeth. There are 2 at-home-tray whitening methods to bleach your teeth and both require a mold of your teeth, either from a dental lab, or a boil and bite tray, made by you. In the process of home tray systems bleaching gel is placed in the molding of your teeth, then the molding is placed in your mouth around your teeth for up to several hours and must be done daily for as long as it takes to get your teeth whitened.

Another option for getting your teeth whiter is with the assistance of a dentist. During chair-side bleaching a very strong bleaching agent, and the possibility of a laser is used. The dentist will then proceed to clean your teeth and remove plaque with a sandy material. A gel is then applied after the cleaning. A laser may be used on the gel to help the whitening process. The laser does not do the whitening, instead it simply releases the chemicals in the gel, which will clean and whiten the teeth. The entire process usually takes 30 minutes but can last as long as an hour.

Besides visiting dentists and using home tray kits, there are also over the counter ways to make that smile brighter. Products such as Colgate Simply White and Crest Whitening Strips can also be used. However, these methods tend to be much less effective than the home tray or chair-side bleaching methods.

If you find yourself having to do this, ask yourself why it has come to this. Did you take care of your teeth? What’s made them so yellow, or stained? Remember that the time it takes to get your teeth white will depend on the color of which you started. If you started with heavily stained teeth, then you have quite a bit of work to do. After the bleaching is done remember to take care of your teeth. If you don’t, you may have to do it again in the future and depending on the method, it might be a real pain. When the process is over, your teeth will not only be whiter, but your confidence higher.

Recently, the rage in oral hygiene seems to be teeth bleaching kits. In reality, the issue is not a hygienic one at all: healthy human teeth come in a natural range of shades of ivory and off-white. Foods and beverages such as tea, and habits like smoking will stain the teeth, but a good dental cleaning done by a professional dental hygienist will remove these stains and restore your teeth to their natural color. If you really want them whiter, a range of professional treatments and over the counter products are available for you to choose from.

Bleaching teeth is usually accomplished with peroxide - the peroxide is applied to the teeth topically and left on for a period of time. The method of application varies between teeth bleaching kits, and you may have to repeat the procedure several days in a row to complete the process. Though some of the higher end kits are quite expensive, the general rule is, as with so many other things, you get what you pay for.

Teeth bleaching kits that require you to paint the whitening agent onto the surface of your teeth and let it dry seem, at first glance, to be the easiest to use; however, you may have difficulty getting an even result because if some of the agent is rubbed or licked off before the rest, bleaching will end in that area. Once the teeth are unevenly colored, it can be difficult to attain an even color again. A further disadvantage of this method is that these formulas for bleaching teeth often contain alcohol and glycerin, which have a drying effect on the oral tissues and tooth enamel - damage that can lead to other problems (such as bad breath and sensitive teeth) later.

Some teeth bleaching kits contain strips that are applied to the teeth like tape. The whitening agent is on the strip and acts on the teeth as long as it is left in place. The difficulty with this kit design is that it is quite difficult to make sure the tape contacts all the contoured surfaces of the teeth: bleaching teeth this way can result in white outer surfaces, but stained grooves in the surface and stained areas between the teeth where they curve inwards. To get even whitening, you have to make sure the entire surface area of the tooth is exposed to the peroxide.

Perhaps the least comfortable, but most effective home teeth bleaching kits include little trays, like the ones many dentists use to apply fluoride to teeth. The whitening agent is put into the tray and then the tray is applied over the teeth so that the entire surface of each tooth is effectively exposed. Formulas that contain peroxide at a concentration greater than 20 percent provide the best results for bleaching teeth, and again, watch out for kits that contain alcohol and glycerin.

The next time you do your routine morning ritual, take a look at the mirror - and take a good look at your teeth. Do you notice a small white spot on your teeth? If you do, your teeth maybe starting to have dental caries-or in layman’s term, tooth decay.

I could explain it in detail for you but the point is, you CAN stop this from happening in the first place! What if I tell you simple ways on how to stop this from happening to your teeth, would you read on? Or would you just click away from this article and be one of the 29 million Americans who suffer this and not doing anything about it?

Your tooth is not like your skin that heals itself after a wound. Let me tell you this, tooth that are destroyed by decay does NOT regenerate. But, you can stop this from happening by following simple guidelines I am going to share to you.

Brush at least twice a day. - And there is more to it. Brush properly and stop cavities.

Floss at LEAST daily. - I have presented on this website, information on how to floss properly.

Flouride helps stop tooth decay - It has been demonstrated that people who ingest fluoride in their drinking water or by fluoride supplements have fewer dental caries. Fluoride ingested when the teeth are developing is incorporated into the structure of the enamel and protects it against the action of acids.

Topical Flouride is also recommended - This may be flouride toothpaste or mouthwash. An article about topical flouride treatment is available at my website.

Dental sealants stop cavities - Sealants are thin plastic-like coating applied to the chewing surfaces of the molars. This coating prevents the accumulation of plaque in the deep grooves on these vulnerable surfaces. Sealants are usually applied on the teeth of children, shortly after the molars erupt. Older people may also benefit from the use of tooth sealants. Do you like chewy, sticky foods like candy or dried fruit? Me too, I like those. But they are best eaten as part of a meal and not as snack. Moderation is key. Remember, you are preventing tooth decay which WILL destroy your teeth. Also, whenever possible, rinse your mouth with water after eating these type of food.

Minimize snacking - Why should I? It’s because snacking creates a constant supply of acids in your mouth. And that will eat at your teeth. Remember that I have said minimize, not stop. You might also want to lessen sucking on candies as well.

And the last important thing is - regular visits to the dentist. Your dentist is THE guy when it comes to tooth care. Visit your dentist every 6 months. Yeah, your dentist will charge you, especially on areas such as X-rays, which may be taken yearly to detect possible cavity development in high risk areas of the mouth, and other dental cleaning services. They might charge you a high price for their services. What if there are ways for you to take care of your teeth AND save anywhere from $100 - $500 a month, would you like to know more about it? There are over 100,000 dentists who are about to give you discounts everytime you visit them for dental services. Lookup your ZIP code and find one in your area now. I have prepared a nifty tool for you to use on my website, http://1delacruz.info

When it comes to false teeth (dentures) modern dentists do the best they can. They use all of the technology and materials available to them and provide their patients with more comfortable dentures than ever before available. But, as any denture wearer will tell you, improvements are still needed.

It is interesting to know people have been wearing dentures from as early as the year 1500, and most likely, they were made in a rather primitive style even before that time.

Records tell us the early dentures were carved from bone, wood or ivory, or made out of teeth from both living and dead donors. Of course, those dentures were uncomfortable and often rotted after extended use. In 1770 Alexis Duchateau made the first porcelain dentures. In 1791, one of his assistants, Nicholas Dubois De Chermant was granted the first British patent for a denture. He specified as follows:

“ A composition for the purpose of making of artificial teeth either single, double or in rows or in complete sets and also with springs for fastening or affixing the same in a more easy and effectual manner than any hitherto discovered method. Said teeth may be made of any shade or color, which they will retain for any length of time and will consequently more perfectly resemble the natural teeth.”

Chermant began selling his false teeth in 1792 with most of his porcelain paste then being supplied by Wedgwood. Then, in 1808 single teeth in porcelain were also made. Later, dentures were made of other materials such as vulcanite and stainless steel. In the 20th century, acrylic resin and other plastics were also used. A survey taken in England in 1968 found that 79% of the people aged 64 to 74 had no natural teeth. But then, by 1998 this figure had fallen to only 36%.

The problem with modern dentures includes the fact that wearers of false teeth are not used to having something in their mouth that is not food. It seems the brain senses this appliance as “food” and sends messages to the salivary glands to produce more saliva and to secrete it at a higher rate. In addition, a few weeks after the denture is inserted in the wearer’s mouth, the new denture will almost certainly be the cause of sore spots where the hard acrylic plastic rubs and presses on the gums (mucosa). Dentists often make adjustments by grinding the acrylic and generally reshaping it to fit the gums better. This is a fairly expensive process. Another problem some wearers have is gagging. A denture that is too loose, or ill fitting can cause this. Or the denture can be too thick or not long enough for a proper fit. Gagging can also be the result of a mental or psychological denial of the denture. A basic problem with all dentures is that of keeping them in place

As you may have guessed, I have studied false teeth and denture problems quite extensively. This is because I seem to have inherited soft teeth from both my mother and my father, who both wore dentures. So, now, my time has come to have a denture of my own. In this way, I have gained a first hand understanding of the problems my folks had years ago with their dentures. In short, I’ve discovered it hurts to keep dentures in your mouth all the time. Why? Because most false teeth don’t fit properly. False teeth can: wobble, get loose, and go clickety-clack, rub gums raw and generally feel very uncomfortable. So, for most people - out they come until needed.

My dentist explained to me why this happens. He said it is because, after the extraction of natural teeth, our gums gradually shrink. As they shrink the denture that once fit so well, gets loose. The more time goes by, the looser the denture can get. My dentist suggested I have my loose denture lined with a thicker layer of acrylic to correct the problem. I did that once. I won’t do it again. Why, because it just costs too much time and money.

I tend to be creative and inventive. So, after several months of study of my loose denture problem and many experiments, I finally figured out a simple solution.

Now, with my new denture liner invention (Patent pending.), in just a few minutes anyone can put a soft, ever flexible liner in his or her denture without ever seeing the dentist.

This new do-it-yourself denture liner solves the problem once and for all. Benefits: It is low in cost, very easy to install and adjust and there is no mixing of compounds. In short, now we can all wear dentures that are much more comfortable and better fitting then ever before.

So, if you want to avoid the embarrassment of being seen with out your false teeth in place, if you want to enjoy eating again, I suggest you try my new Weber Denture Liner. See for yourself how it can help you. …keep smiling!

It seems like we all want to look good. That might mean getting a tan, losing weight, and perhaps having healthy, white teeth. The reality is, though, that most of us want instant results, rather than having to spend countless hours trying to look the way we want. So when someone comes along and invents something that can give us sparkling white teeth without the hours of work, chances are we will want to know about it. We want lovely white teeth fast, no pain, no hassle, and the sooner the better.

Laser teeth whitening is a great way to have white teeth in the minimum amount of time. You don’t have to wait days to see the desired results; they’re noticeable almost immediately. To begin with, your dental health professional will clean your teeth in the normal way. This removes any plaque or other debris that could adversely affect the whitening process.

Then, a whitening gel is applied to your teeth, and you are placed in position for the laser treatment. Basically, the purpose of the laser is to accelerate the process by activating the whitening gel. Although many people are very happy with the results after one session, sometimes it will take several sessions with gel and laser if the teeth have a significant amount of staining or discoloration.

Like many convenient solutions, laser teeth whitening doesn’t come cheap. You can purchase a home teeth-whitening kit from the local drug or grocery store, and pay only a few dollars. For that outlay you’ll probably just get a whitening toothpaste, but you can usually get the more sophisticated gel or molding based whitening kits for under $100. Laser teeth whitening is more likely to cost you between $500 and $1,000, depending on the dentist you visit and any extra services provided.

Still, if you’re serious about having a beautiful, white smile, and don’t mind the effect on your hip pocket, laser teeth whitening is a quick and simple solution. So the choice is simple - do you want a white smile fast, or do you want to save your money? You’re the only one who can make that choice.

1. Brush your teeth with baking soda, just a little goes a long way. Wet your brush a bit then takes some baking soda on the brush like toothpaste. If you hate the taste you can brush your teeth with real toothpaste afterword. it really work made your breath smell fresh too and it cheap!

2. Using hydrogen peroxide as a rinse before brushing, it may burns a little. It doesn’t taste great, don’t swallow it. Or you can put Hydrogen Peroxide on with Q-tips.

Careful with the peroxide, you could damage your gums & teeth. Don’t use the peroxide to often.

3. Hydrogen peroxide and baking soda mixture. Apply to surface of teeth, leave on half an hour, rinse off if gums start to sting then use your toothbrush to really make it work. It is too abrasive to do every day. Use this method no more then 1 or twice a week. Beware do not swallow it.

4. You can use Crest whitestrips. It work great!. They will cost about $20-$25. If you don’t want to spend that much use peroxide. It cost under $1. It won’t work as good or fast as White strips, but it will help.

5. Whitening tooth kit which you can found easily in most chemists, make sure to follow instructions carefully cause it’s easy to screw up.

6. Teeth whitening toothpaste or Gel. Use it regularly, you will notice a difference. Whitening toothpastes remove surface stains and prevent new stains from building up. However they are not in contact with the teeth long enough to remove internal stains.

7. Try a Sonicare toothbrush, by the powerful oscillating or rotating movement brush can actually make it easier to clean stains. Like you brush 3 times more when compare to normal brushes.

White teeth are not a overnight miracle. You should prevent your teeth from stains and always white easily by just brush your teeth really well twice a day and stop eating / drinking things like coffee, tea, carbonated drinks or smoke. It ’s also keep your oral heathly from other problems.

As soon as the surgical implant is healed, your dentist will finish restoring your teeth

The replacement tooth looks exactly like the ones that you had before. This is because the dentist takes a impression of your existing teeth and sends it to the dental laboratory. This laboratory creates an exact replica of your teeth so that no one can recognize that you no longer have your original teeth. After the teeth are made in the lab, the dentist will place the teeth in your mouth and adjust them to your mouth shape and size.

Flossing always helps your teeth in the surfaces that tooth brushing cannot reach under the gum line and between the teeth. Brushing and flossing helps to remove plaque, a substance that adds slowly and hardens along the teeth over a period of time. If this is left without treating, then slowly deposits of plaque leads to tooth decay and gum disease

It is very important to learn how to floss your white teeth. Dental surgeons or hygienists will happily demonstrate the technique of proper flossing. Flossing technique basics are explained clearly below.

Dental floss is of different types, so one type of dental floss will not work for all. People can select between unwaxed or waxed, unflavoured or flavoured, and tape types or regular types. Generally, it was found that a waxed dental floss slides more easily between your teeth than an unwaxed dental floss. Also flavoured dental floss always leaves a good fresh taste in your mouth and is good for those situations when rinsing or brushing is not possible. Another typical type is the tape dental floss which is thicker than the regular dental floss, the one that is preferred by people having wide gaps between their teeth.

Nowadays dental companies are trying to market this dental floss which is newly made up of space age materials. These space age materials give extra smoothness and are also stronger than traditional dental floss. It is always good that you ask your dental surgeon to know which dental floss is the best fit for you.

People with arthritis or limited dexterity cannot easily manipulate floss. They may wish to use other devices such as intra dental cleaners or dental floss holders.

Flossing is a kind of multi sensory experience where you will have a set of flavors and choices. Your preferences or needs are bound to a general product that benefits you in cleaning under the gum line and between your teeth. Flossing and regular brushing will help to ensure your teeth always stay healthy.

It is important to take care of your teeth and gums, of course your mother has already told you this so why should I bring it up to you now at this late juncture? Well, consider if you will the cost to replace your teeth if you fail to floss, brush or are dead set on doing certain drugs like Crystal Meth, which causes rapid tooth decay and a diseased mouth?

What folks do not understand is that dental work can run in the tens of thousands if you do not take care of your teeth and judging by the obesity issues in American, well lets just say people are not eating right at all. Most deductibles for dental work can make it prohibitive from getting the proper dental work once a huge problem arises. This is due to Americans, being in credit card debt and such.

Preventative dental care, teeth cleaning and check-ups can serve you well in early detection and proper care. It simply does not pay to be hard-headed on this issue. Your teeth are just too important and medical professionals have linked tooth decay, gum problems and gum disease to heart disease. Play it smart and get your check-ups often. You will be glad you did. Consider all this in 2006.
